시칠리아섬의 저녁기도


창단 60주년을 맞은 국립오페라단의 오페라 〈시칠리아 섬의 저녁기도〉 국내 초연을 위한 홍보물은, 결혼식이라는 축복의 순간에 벌어지는 비극과 피의 봉기를 시각적으로 표현하는 데 초점을 두었습니다. 결혼식을 앞둔 신부의 뒷모습을 중심에 배치하여, 사랑과 축복, 그리고 피비린내 나는 봉기의 긴장감을 동시에 담았습니다. 붉은 그래디언트는 저녁노을의 아름다움과 피의 기운을 이중적으로 상징하며, 초현실적인 푸른빛 공간은 역사와 운명이 교차하는 찰나의 감정과 비극의 서사를 암시합니다. 타이틀은 예식의 형식을 연상시키는 구조와 상징을 가미해, 경건함 속에 숨겨진 격정과 폭발의 기운을 드러냅니다.

I vespri siciliani 

To mark the 60th anniversary of the Korea National Opera, this promotional poster was created for the Korean premiere of <I Vespri Siciliani>. Set against the backdrop of a brutal uprising triggered during a wedding ceremony, the opera depicts the Sicilian people's desperate cry for independence under French oppression. The design centers on the back view of a bride, capturing the fragile beauty of a ceremonial moment overshadowed by impending tragedy. The red gradient evokes both the serene hues of a sunset and the ominous foreboding of bloodshed, while the surreal blue light infuses the scene with a sense of suspended time—where history and destiny converge. The typography draws inspiration from wedding formalities, incorporating sacred symmetry and symbolic motifs to express the suppressed tension and eventual eruption of violence.
